Circus 1903 - Opening Night!

Oh my! Oh my! My little ladies and I had the pleasure of attending the opening night of Circus 1903 at the stunning Regent Theatre Melbourne last night. What an amazing show! Ok, picture this ... live theatre, historic location, old school circus performances and talent beyond your imagination. Yep, you got it!

I have to say this is the most entertaining, theatrical performance I've seen in a very long time! The talent was second to none. If someone was to say it's just another circus, I would have to laugh. In the past few years, I've seen many performances, many circus' but this is hands down the best of the best. Why you ask? Well, let me show you.

The cycle ballet was one of the first performances. Mind. Blown. The strength and coordination it would take to manoeuvre this trick .... OH .... yes the kids may have given me a few sideways glances as I oohed and ahhhed.

We also laughed as the cheeky, clown/dancers entertained us with the antics. The dancing was well persecuted and the stage was always a buzz of activity!

I'm not sure who enjoyed it more, the kids or I! They laughed when the ring, aster called upon some children to come on stage and perform a trick that turned into a disaster! What do they say? Never work with animals or children! But when asked what their favourite part was, there was no denying the amazingly produced elephants stole the show!

Walked on stage by the crew, these life sized puppets were beyond amazing! Little peanut was a bundle of energy that had the little ones giggling and the larger one had myself in awe! So much effort and detail brought the show to life, transporting you back to 1903! I kept referring to Water for Elephants as an example of why we no longer have them, but I would have loved to experience a show like that.

However, the elephants weren't my all time favourite. I'm a sucker for the aerial work of the talented soloist who, for me, made the show.

Watching her twist and turn and all without safety harnesses! I held my breathe the entire time but was in wonder at the moves and skills she possessed. I love a show that demonstrates pure talent and this was it. I was completely blown away from start to finish.

If you too would like to attend this amazing event, you can purchase your tickets through Ticketmaster or for more information head to their website.

{Playground Review} Harpley Estate - Wyndhamvale

The brand new and still growing, Harpley Estate is located off McGrath Road in Wyndham Vale, Victoria.

This amazing space is a sensory delight! With visually appealing, sectioned areas, and winding paths to lead you through, the kids will run and play creatively and excitedly.

The play area consists of a large slide, a fort, monkey bars, swings and a flying fox. In addition, there are tunnels to crawl through, logs to jump across and lots of areas to discover.

The six hectare space incorporates a wetland area with bridges and walking/bike tracks. There is a large grass area to watch the kids run free and play happily! BBQ and sheltered areas are found scattered through the precinct but toilets were not seen.

{Playground Review} Torquay Skate Park & Playground

On of Merrijig Drive, Torquay, you'll find this amazing combination of play space and skate park.

The skate park has a whopping 12ft bowl for the experienced and an undercover street course for levels. The locals love this space and are often here with kids and adults alike loving the opportunity to drop in!

PT Warriors ...

We caught the bus today.

Yep, the old PT! Public Transport.

Me and four children! I thought I was going to be a disaster, but they proved me wrong! We had an awesome day!

I have decided that a pram brings me unnecessary stress as today I had Nate in the carrier and he was a golden child. Well he is generally a golden child, but more so today! We went to our local shopping centre, had a walk around, got lost in Typo (for hours!), watched a Wizard Of Oz show and had lunch! Then we caught our buses home in time to relax for a bit and get dinner ready!

A task that I would normally see as an inconvenience, the kids absolutely loved it. The awe on the faces of my two younger girls -who have never been on a bus- was magical!

We had such an amazing day and I have forgotten how convenient PT can be and even on a wet and dreary day like today, we stayed dry and had fun!

The Brickvention

We were lucky enough to have been surprised by hubby with tickets to the Lego Convention at the Royal Exhibition building in Carlton last weekend. I was a little put off at the thought, but I knew the kids would love it as Mikayla and Zarah are right into building it all at the moment. We have Lego friends and Lego City all over the house!

The designs that were created are beyond words! I was amazed over and over again with the detail and the scenes that had been recreated.

One of my favourite designs were the Melbourne themes. I was so excited to see the trams and Luna Park! Even with a running roller coaster! I honestly was transported back to when I was younger, plain with my little brothers Legos!

The Melbourne Cup
If you are a die hard 007 fan, you too will blown away by the clarity and detail found in the following pictures. These were apart of the exhibit that is running at Melbourne Museum at the moment!

I have visited the Exhibition Building many times for the garden show and wedding expo's etc, but I am still floored by its beauty. The classic style of the building is stunning and makes me smile to think this is in our backyard. Very proud to be a Melbournian, even if our weather is a little temperamental!
